Compassion Coaching

There’s no right way to arrive here. You don’t need to be certain or have it all figured out. If you’re feeling the pull to slow down, quiet self-doubt, and reconnect with what matters, you’re welcome to explore what becomes possible when self-care begins with compassion. You may be here because something inside you knows it’s time to care for yourself differently — not by doing more, but by listening more closely.

This is a space for people who are tired of pushing through and ready to meet themselves with compassion, at their own pace and in their own way.

See What's Possible

Why Focus Compassionate Self-Care ?

I’ve created an oracle deck to support this same shift — beginning wherever you are, with compassion practiced from the inside out.

This oracle deck was created for people who want a simple, non-prescriptive way to explore self-care.

Whether you draw one card or many, follow a layout or create your own, you’re invited to use this deck as a gentle companion — supporting awareness, self-trust, and compassionate choice in everyday life.

The cards are not meant to tell you what to do. They’re designed to help you listen to yourself more clearly — especially in moments when self-doubt or overwhelm makes that difficult.

An 8 Week Self-Led Program to Support Your Self-Care

Your Self-Care, Your Choice, Your Way - Without Guilt. A Compassionate, Self-Led Approach to Self-Care and Well-Being 💨You may be at a point where you know, quietly and clearly, that something has to change. You’re tired of putting your own plans, needs, and longings on hold while you take care of everyone else. Let me ask you… Are you tired of putting your own plans, needs, and longings on hold while you take care of everyone else? Do you have an inkling that you have gone along ALL THESE YEARS to get along? If deep in your bones that way of being no longer fits?  Are you realizing that, quietly and clearly, that something MUST change? You may now notice, how often fear shaped your choices: fear of looking foolish, fear of getting it wrong, fear of not being seen in a good light? Are you like me looking for an easier path? Staying where you are rather than risk stepping toward what you truly want? 💜Your body is paying attention, even when you try not to. 💜 Moments of exhaustion, tension, or burnout are signals — not failures — pointing to overwhelm and the need for a reset. Somewhere inside, you want to learn how to say “no” with respect rather than resentment, and “yes” to yourself without guilt. Self-care is an outward expression of self-compassion. When we practice self-kindness, we begin to understand ourselves more clearly — and that understanding naturally flows outward to others. Compassion doesn’t stop with us. It moves through us, shaping how we relate to our families, friends, communities, and the wider world. 💜When self-care is rooted in compassion rather than obligation, it becomes a quiet force for change.💜 🪻My Experience I didn’t see it coming — though all the signs were there. Forgetfulness. Irritability. Teariness. Feeling overwhelmed by familiar tasks I had done for years. I pushed on anyway. I showed up at work feeling unwell, telling myself I had to keep going — new to the position, not wanting to look like a failure. My body was trying to get my attention, but I wasn’t ready to listen. Until one day, the muscles in my back seized up.
That did get my attention. For the next six weeks, I was forced to slow down — resting, sleeping, attending appointments. And during that time, there was a small, quiet voice gently reminding me to rest, to meditate. I had learned meditation in my twenties, but like many things, the practice had slipped away as life grew busier. That experience changed my understanding of self-care. I realized it wasn’t just about a massage or a trip away. Self-care had to begin with awareness — awareness of what was actually needed. I committed to returning to meditation each morning. As my body healed, I began to notice the relentless voice of my inner critic more clearly. And slowly, alongside the physical healing, something else softened too — my emotions, my perspective, and my connection to what I now call my Wise Elder Self: an inner, compassionate guide who helps me meet challenges with greater clarity and kindness. That experience became another stepping stone to where I am today — and to the work I now offer others. Yet many people hear the term self-care and feel a surge of hope, pushing themselves into a plan that doesn’t last. When it falls apart a few weeks later, it can leave them feeling discouraged, guilty, and hard on themselves. What’s often missing isn’t motivation — it’s compassionate self-trust. I’ve created an 8-week program to support this same shift — beginning wherever you are, with compassion practiced from the inside out. This 8-week group journey is designed to support an inner shift — from self-judgment to self-kindness, from overwhelm to clarity, from “doing more” to listening and trusting yourself more deeply. Through guided reflection, meaningful conversation, and the use of the oracle deck, Making the Time: Wellbeing through Compassionate Self-Care, you’ll be invited to explore what caring for yourself truly looks like in this season of your life. Rather than following a formula, you’ll design a self-care blueprint that reflects your values, your rhythms, and your real life — supported by a small group and a compassionate, steady container. Here are some features and details: 🌱 The 8-Week Group Journey (60 minutes per week) January 21 – March 19 This is a 8-week, small group experience dedicated to your well-being — with time and space already set aside, so self-care doesn’t get pushed to the margins again. Each weekly 60-minute session offers: ~Guided exploration of what self-care actually means to you at this stage of life. ~Time to work with the oracle deck and explore its nuanced meanings in a supportive setting. ~Space to bring questions, challenges, and “aha” moments as they arise. ~The grounding energy of group connection — learning from others while staying rooted in your own process. ~Compassionate accountability to help you stay connected to your intentions without pressure or shame. ~A recording of each session, so you can review or catch up when needed. The group is NOT about comparison — it’s about remembering you’re not alone. ~~~ Do you relate to any of these? Do you find yourself wanting to: *Reduce overwhelm and meet your needs with greater calm and confidence? *Strengthen your trust in yourself and your inner knowing? *Soften negative self-talk and relate to your inner critic with compassion? *Bring more playfulness, curiosity, and enthusiasm into daily life? *Deepen your connection to a Higher Source or spiritual grounding of your choosing? *Explore a flexible, non-prescriptive approach to self-care that adapts to you? *Experience supportive, loving accountability that helps you stay connected to what matters? 🌿 The Oracle Deck & Guide - Making the Time, Well Being Through Compassionate Self-Care A Description At the heart of this program is a 56-card oracle deck designed as a gentle compass for self-care — NOT a prescription. ^Four suits invite you to explore areas of well-being you may not have considered before, offering fresh perspectives rather than rules. ^A thoughtfully written guidebook supports deeper reflection and helps you expand your understanding over time. ^Various ways to work with the cards in ways that suit you — one card, or several — choosing the layout that feels right in the moment.
Your plan. Your way. ^Loving-kindness statements help ground insights with compassion rather than self-judgment. ^Each reflection leads to doable actions, created by you, for you — so self-care becomes lived, not idealized. This deck is meant to support listening inward, not looking outside yourself for answers. 🌼 One Private Coaching Session (45 minutes) You’ll also receive one private session focused entirely on you. This time is dedicated to: Designing your personal self-care blueprint. Gently identifying patterns or places where you feel stuck. Asking personal questions about the deck and how to use it in ways that support you. Clarifying next steps with compassion and honesty. This session helps integrate the group experience into something that truly fits your life. 🌙 Guided MP3 Meditation You’ll receive a 5-minute guided meditation designed to be simple, spacious, and grounding. Gentle imagery helps bring you back into the present moment. Supports relaxation, letting go, and mental clarity. Short enough to use regularly — without becoming another obligation. 🌸 Private Community Space A dedicated, private community group is available to participants only. This space offers: A place to check in between sessions. Room to share questions, insights, or small wins. Gentle connection without pressure to perform or overshare. Participation is always optional — you choose how and when to engage. 🌾What participants often gain from this 8-week journey ⭐️A self-care blueprint that fits their real life. One that’s simple, integrated, and rooted in self-respect — not guilt, pressure, or perfection. ⭐️A kinder, more supportive relationship with themselves
. ⭐️Participants often notice a shift in how they speak to themselves, think about themselves, and respond to challenges — with less self-criticism and more compassion. ⭐️Greater clarity and steadiness in decision-making. ⭐️As self-doubt quiets, it becomes easier to trust what matters, follow through on intentions, and move toward goals that feel meaningful rather than imposed. ⭐️Renewed energy and motivation that comes from alignment, not force.
⭐️Motivation returns not because you push harder, but because you’re no longer working against yourself. ⭐️A felt sense of calm, agency, and self-trust
 - Not because life stops being demanding — but because you are meeting it from a grounded, compassionate place. ⭐️By supporting your self-care, sharing your insights, and validating other women, you are strengthening a network of self-care, extending out with compassion. TRUST THAT My Bio Pam Van Nest respectfully acknowledges that she lives on Michi Saagiig, Anishnaabe lands and the traditional territory covered by the Williams Treaties, Nogojiwanong, Peterborough. She is aware of the privileges of being a cis gender, able bodied, white woman and continues to work to decolonize her practice, staying open to new learning, and sharing her gifts. She is all about creating calm, compassionate spaces where individuals over 40 quiet self-doubt, reconnecting with what matters to them and making meaningful choices about their next chapter. In her 10+ years of coaching she blends somatic awareness, compassionate listening, and decades of lived experience — special education teaching, travel, motherhood, marriages, working the 12 step spiritual program, and studying self-compassion. These led her to zero in on programs for individuals who are navigating change — career shifts, caregiving demands, identity transitions, or simply the desire to stop doing too much for too many — she offers coaching, retreats, and tools like my Self-Care Oracle Card Deck to support their reconnection with themselves; Focus, Define and Choose.

Compassion to Passion

The KEY to a passionate life is Self-Compassion.  I'm convinced.

“Self -Compasstion starts with being kind to ourselves, allowing ourselves to come to understand ourselves,” says Pam.

It begins with mindfully breathing in and slowly exhaling - in THIS moment. And then then you can become grounded, find your voice, because...
